...OR she simply reveals her real height.

Hizuki Hana, the previous top musumeyaku of Soragumi has signed up with Space Craft, a major Japanese talent agency. No schedule for her is announced yet, but I hope Ume-chan will be getting lots of promising career plans.

Now she stands 166 cm tall,  2 cm plus than the 2009 Otome.
(And I'm already curious to see how many cm Nene, who is also 164cm in height in Otome, would add after retirement from Takarazuka.)

The ex-top musumeyaku of Tsukigumi offers you (samples of ) her sweet voices to alleviate your pain.

Ayano Kanami will be releasing her first CD album "Love Story - Hikari no Michi  (A Path of Light)" on Oct. 14th from Universal Japan.
This seems to be a cover album of 80's J-pop hits except for Track #8 "Amazing Grace" and the last track "Hikari no Michi" - a special song dedicated to the new Ujibashi Bridge built for Ise Jinguu shrine this year.  Her voice sounds more mature and jazzy.

I hope Mihoko will be doing a concert!

Before I mention anything about Haruno Sumire's Solo Concert
男と女 Un Homme et Une Femme, I'd like to post a short review on Osa's first CD album in the same title, because the basic concept of her show running just now is in line with this work (Haketa Takesfumi  who produced the album is the musical director and pianist of the concert).

This photo from the CD booklet would most represent the album concept.

Un Homme et Une Femme may come across as a beautiful ballad album at first. That's the bait. As it unfolds itself, however, you will find yourself straying into a mesmerizingly colorful labyrinth. In the end of the path you will witness a spark of rapture in the most peculiar way.
The album is a highly intriguing experiment in which Osa explores the realm of her performing capabilities – in terms of vocal range and emotional expressions.  It  consists of 12 songs, and
as the title suggests she tries to depict both femininity and masculinity within herself through them. She changes characters and genders from one track to another and carefully applies the most suitable vocal expression and register (ranging from soprano to baritone) to present each track. Osa becomes a woman who finds a moment of eternity in the remote mountains / a wanderer under a foreign sky missing his estranged lover / a woman desperately in love / Death / etc., etc. ... Then both sexes are finally united in an impressively provocative way.
All the vocals (female parts/ male parts / backing chorus) on the disc are performed by Osa herself.  (While listening to the CD, I automatically flipped through the booklet to check who were doing the backing vocals that are richly heard especially on Track #5 (Heart of Mine), Track #7 (Guilty) and Track #11 (Saigo no Dansu) - only to remind myself that Osa did all of those marvelous jobs.)

The songs on the album are listed here and you can sample all the tracks.

OK. You can enjoy listening to this CD with your family or friends up to Track #11.

Then

DANGER! A MINE AHEAD! )

I'm glad that Osa continues to be an adventurer.

More on *that* topic or a new law found

A Sanspo article reports on the lucky one.

"Her husband-to-be is senior to her and a company president.
They have been dating for 2 years.
The couple  will hold a wedding ceremony in Yokohama within this month."

A company president's wife. Hmm.

The last 2 years. (Hey, isn't that the BUSIEST time in her life?!)

Well, actually I knew it was coming. Recently Osa-san has been seen wearing a solitaire diamond ring on her right ring finger on various occasions. I first noticed that shiny little thing on her at a talk show with Juripyon in November last year.

NOW I HAVE REALIZED THIS "TOD'S LAW"
While many of the ex-top stars remain single...
Ichiro (married) , Mariko (married)  Zunko (married) , Osa (soon to be married)
The next should be Saeko.  **glances over at Mizu & Asako**

[EDIT]
A Mainichi article mentions her batchmate introduced him to Osa AFTER her retirement from the Revue Company (who's the responsible douki?) and they started dating.
She will continue her performing career.

Now this article says "he" is a businessman in his forties and they first met in March last year...

She dropped a bomb.

Back in fangirling action after a long while, I'm having a few interesting events these days such as the AQUA5 concert, a Micchan ochakai, and Osa's talk/song show this evening.

Nothing, however, would rock the fandom more than
this )

[EDIT]
She's just uploaded a message about the subject here.

It has been disclosed that Mr. Joy Bee, a native from New Orleans and accomplished musician, engaged himself in a very outlandish part time job while aspiring for success in the music industry, which was...

SCANDALOUS!! )

I can't wait to see his her first lead role after Takarazuka.

Russian Constructivism meets Yukigumi

Yesterday, Hankyuu released this poster for the upcoming Hanagumi Bow Hall show (which I adore for its sheer silliness) .

Today they are giving Конструктивизм to Mizu-Minako gumi.  I love it. Very much.
You can hardly resist that adorably dorky Kimu shouting the title aloud.  And Yumiko <<333

I hope these shows (both Hanagumi Bow Hall and Yukigumi Grand Theater) will live up to their outstanding poster designs.
(And I'm highly amused by what's happening recently in the design branch of the Revue Company.)

Under an umbrella with Yoshio.

Shirahane Yuri is to star in the upcoming Toho production of The Umbrellas of Cherbourg.
She is given to do Geneviève playing opposite musical star Inoue Yoshio who will perform Guy.

Also in the cast are Taki-san (Aunt Élise - Yoshio's aunt) & Taatan (Madame Emery - Tonami's mom!).
And I do know Anza, who will be Madeleine, is a fabulous singer (and looks good). I just saw her with her band Vitamin-Q this February.
This is going to be awesome. For sure.

The show will run from Dec. 5 through 28 at Nissay Theater.

(Now I need to hear about Touko and Asuka.)

[EDIT}
Now I realize that this show is going to be choreographed/directed by Sha Tamae, and Chiaki Shin serves as a vocal trainer. Hmm,  Zuka OGs are thriving in Toho musicals.

Upcoming MIZU business + Tani on the cover

AQUA5
Just got a notificatin from Amazon.co.jp that an AQUA5 book  will be published on April 11. The price is yen 1800.-
This book covers the group's history and activities and will include essays written by the members plus exclusive photos.

In the other news Tani in a very Tani-esque costume (and I like this attire) will appear  on the cover of  Stage Album 2008. Finally a Soragumi top has made a cover of one of the two major annual publications - Otome and Stage Album -  since Takako.  Good news. It goes on sale on March 30 and sells at yen 1200.-

Then at Nissay Theater today

Asako came to see Marguerite this evening.
She sat in the center of the front row. I also saw Sonoka and Morie. They were the first ones to give a standing ovation.

(I wonder what thoughts she had about the musical and seeing Osa in bed with the other guy  Osa's performance. Hmm.)

BTW Maya Miki-san took the same seat at the opening night of the show's Nissay Theater run.
Also present in the audience on March 12 was Komu-chan.

[EDIT]
And it happened to be the senshuuraku of the incredibly successful Tokyo run of Taiou Shijinki, which had sold out all tickets through Mar. 22 by the end of February.
My friend and I, after having a dinner, arrived in time to catch Rise's sayonara parade.  Rise looked so pretty and happy in a black kimono and a green hakama. I think I saw Rise's batchmate Maina Rion-chan filming her with a video camera. Good luck, Rise-chan!
Then came out Yuu, who was radiantly smiling and  very much top-star-like.
Eritan...thanks for being a real eye-opener by wearing that bright pink long scarf on a rainy night.
After a bunch of kawaii's (Ayane, Ichika, Juria, etc.) and kakkoii's (Mattsu, Miwacchi, Meo, Daimon, etc.), Yuuhi appeared.  She got a thunderous applause from the crouching crowd & bystanders. Sumika, who showed up shortly after Yuuhi,  was also greeted by a big applause. Yuuhi's club reacted enthusiastically when she passed in front of them. (And it feels strange that the next time I will see the pair in Tokyo they are in a Soragumi show.)
Mame (otokoyaku-with-an-entertaining-scarf #2), wore a sparkling silver scarf around her neck and shyly trotted away, which caused an approving giggle.

Of the Osagumi bond.

On Monday I saw Mattsu, Ichika, Maa-kun & a bunch from Hanagumi among the audience of Phoenix Wright  senshuuraku at Nihon Seinenkan.

Today Rantomu ("Mayu-san" XD) came to watch Legend in the Tokyo Takarazuka Theater (reported by a Yuu fan).

And this afternoon Yumiko went to see Marguerite in Umeda Arts Theater in Osaka (reported by an Osa fan).

On Skystage, Asako was rehearsing for Saudade and I heard her singing Kuroi Washi  "L'aigle noir".

Then Tashiro Mario tells in his blog that Asako, who is opening her show in Theater Drama City (which is in the same premises as Umeda Arts Theater)  soon and in the middle of dress rehearsals, came to visit Osa's dressing room today! Asako was in her all shiny sequined  costume and with her Zuka makeup on which totally overwhelmed Mario.
He went on to add, "I was amused because Haruno-san looked extremely happy to see Sena-san and I'd never seen her like that before."
*Thank you Mario for reporting, but I need to tell you it's  "瀬奈" not " 瀬名".

Warm, tender emotions flow into me.

"Sumire-sama" according to Terawaki-san

The Feb.13th performance of Marguerite was followed by a 30 min. talk show featuring Terawaki Yasufumi, the actor playing Otto.
He was a tall, handsome and very hilarious guy (unlike his onstage character).

The following are his comments relating to  "Sumire-sama" (that's how he usually calls Osa in person) :

Old habits die hard... )And she's funny as before )
(I seem to like the idea of Sumire-sama playing Otto.  XD)

Marguerite at Akasaka Act Theater
Feb. 10, 2009 (the opening night)

From the moment you enter the auditorium, you are constantly stared at by the giant Osa/ Marguerite head which is projected on the large screen, which serves as a stage curtain, hung in front.  She blinks once in every minute. It's a strangely mesmerizing experience.

The fragrance of flowers, particularly white lilies and orchids, sent from well-wishers (those for Osa included Sena Jun, Ayabuki Mao, Matobu Sei and Sha Tamae) filled the lobby and corridors.

Meet a brand new Haruno Sumire )
On the cast )

** I was sitting in the last row and some of the creative staff from London were just standing behind my seat. That gave me a rare opportunity  to overhear their conversation during the intermission between Act 1 and 2. They were ravishingly raving about Osa-san and the Japanese production of the musical up to that point. I felt so happy (of course) and proud! :D

When you have had enough of the snapshots from the dress rehearsal & the press interview after that and  the opening night, feed yourself with  Osa/Marguerite in motion  (lots of kissing... and no singing XD).
